Robert Costenbader
Campus Manager
Robert Costenbader is a professional chef from Prince George’s County, MD, with 14 years of experience in the culinary industry. Born and raised in Bowie, MD, he relocated to College Park in 2016. Robert’s passion for cooking began at a young age, learning recipes from his grandmothers and further cultivated through his involvement in Boy Scouts, where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and served as his troop’s “Grub Master.”
His culinary journey continued through high school with the PROSTART and C-CAP culinary arts programs, leading him to The Culinary Institute of America. Robert then embarked on his career, honing his skills at top local hospitality companies, including Clyde’s, Jose Andres, Neighborhood Restaurant Group, and Milkboy.
Robert joined Gill Grilling in 2018 as the chef at Delta Gamma for two semesters before leaving to explore other opportunities. He returned in 2022 and will start his 9th semester as campus manager in Spring 2025. Outside of work, Robert enjoys video games, spending time in the great outdoors, and engaging in anything musical.
